Mahindra’s XUV400 seems to love giving competition to its ‘electric sibling’, the TATA Nexon EV.
The all-electric SUV by the Mahindra Group was launched earlier this month & bookings were opened at 11:00 AM on Republic Day, 2023 with 10,000+ bookings recorded within that window. Bookings were open for 34 cities across India & the number of bookings puts the XUV400 at a delivery peiod of approximately seven months.

The compact SUV starts at ₹ 15.99 lakhs & comes in two variants, EC & EL. Amongst other visual & functional upgrades over the EC, the EL model also offers a 39.4 kWh battery thus extending the range to an MIDC claimed 456 kilometers.
Recently, the XUV400 entered the India Book of Records by setting a new record of maximum distance covered by an EV in a single day at sub-zero temperature. The drive started from Kyelang, Lahaul Spiti, Himachal Pradesh and covered a distance of 751kms in 24 hours.

Mahindra has planned supply chain capacities to deliver 20,000 units of the car within the first year of its launch. Customers of the EL variant can expect deliveries to start from March 2023 & EC variant deliveries are slated to start Diwali festive season this year.
